Mayabeque, Cuba_ Grandmaster Leinier Domínguez has climbed to the 18th place in the world ranking, in force until the first of next month, according to the International Chess Federation (FIDE).

The idol of Güines was not present at the Memorial Capablanca for a holiday granted by FIDE.

Despite remaining out of the high competition Leinier maintains the 18th position, while his pair Lázaro Bruzón, managed to climb several steps and flirt with the top-100 to occupy position 101, according to the most recent update of the International Chess Federation.

The güinero keeps his 2739 Elo points, valid to stand on the same position of 30 days ago and with that accumulative leads the Latin American chess players. For Latin America, there are now four masters among the best on the planet, Radio Coco reports.
