Mayabeque, Cuba_ Capitán San Luis Primary School, of the La Salud Popular Council, of Quivicán, was nominated for the National Award of Educational Institutions. 

According to Melba Maidolis Pérez Tortosa, president of the Association of Pedagogues of Cuba in Mayabeque, this school will receive the distinction for the work of the teachers and the results in the school courses.

It also won, among other important decorations, the Neighborhood Prize of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR).

Capitán San Luis Elementary School was built in 1971. It currently has 109 workers and an enrollment of 589 students.
