Quito: Ecuadorians in solidarity with Cuba, as well as diplomats from several countries, participated in Quito, in a cultural political evening organized by the Cuban embassy in that capital, to celebrate the National Rebellion Day on the largest Island of the Antilles, Radio Havana Cuba publishes.
The relevance of the assaults on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Garrisons was highlighted by several of the participants, one of them, the deputy director of Radio Habana Cuba, Pedro Martínez Pírez, who commented on the role of these actions, organized by Fidel Castro, in the fight that ended with the revolutionary triumph of January 1, 1959.
Meanwhile, in nations as far away as South Africa, acts of solidarity with the Caribbean nation continue on Saturday on the occasion of the date.
The activities in that southern country on July 26 included a series of demonstrations in front of the National Parliament yesterday in demand for the cessation of US hostilities against the Cuban nation and in rejection of President Donald Trump's most recent anti-Cuban measures.
