Havana, Cuba: The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz Canel Bermúdez, confirmed that more than one million eight hundred thousand people have spontaneously visited the stone that holds the ashes of Fidel Castro in the cemetery of Santa Ifigenia since his physical departure on November 25, 2016, Radio Habana Cuba publishes.

In his account on the social network Twitter, Díaz Canel highlighted that since then, compatriots and fans from all over the world went to the sacred site located in the eastern province of Santiago de Cuba in an act of faith, homage and commitment to Fidel.

The day before and in the same way, the Cuban dignitary evoked the historical value of the heir of José Martí’s legacy; of the man who survived more than 600 attacks and faced without concessions 11 administrations of the empire.

All Cuba expressed its love and respect for the eternal Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro, who was born on August 13, 1926 in the town of Birán, in the current province of Holguín.
