Abelardo Álvarez Gil, Member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, and candidate for the National Assembly of People's Power for this territory, exercised his right to vote this Sunday, in the polling station number 1 of constituency 9, in Melena del Sur. 

Before seven in the morning he arrived at the school where he could exchange with the members of the electoral table, the students and guides who were getting ready for the beginning of the day.

After singing the notes of the national anthem, the convocation of the elections by the national commission was broadcasted and the members of the electoral table proceeded to the sealing of the polls in front of the present.

The voters began to go through the table where their data were checked, the ballots were handed out and they received the explanation of the voting procedure.

After exercising his right as a Cuban citizen, Abelardo exchanged with the pioneers (schoolchildren) who guarded the ballot boxes, as well as other meleneros who were waiting to vote.

The candidate for deputy highlighted the organization and seriousness of the electoral authorities in the municipality, their ethics and adherence to the law.
