The National Candidacy Commission will conclude this Friday the process of interviews and consultations with the deputies to the National Assembly of People's Power, who made their proposals for the new leadership of Parliament and members of the State Council.

Alfredo Machado López, deputy-chairman of the Nominations Committee, informed the press that it was a very important step in which the 605 parliamentarians, elected on March 11, proposed selected candidates from within that quarry to assume the positions of President, Vice President and Secretary of the National Assembly.

At the moment, the candidacy projects are being prepared, which will be presented on April 19, when the new head of the highest legislative body and the President, First Vice President, Vice Presidents and other members of the State Council will be elected.

These consultations are part of the process of general elections in Cuba convened since June 2017, in which, in a first stage, the municipal delegates of the Popular Power were elected, and then the provincial representatives and deputies were voted.
