Havana, Cuba: The president of the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP), referring to the 1976 magna carta, considered that this constitution marked a milestone in political history and became a compass in the construction of our revolutionary process and a guide for the institutionalization of the nation.

"As we meet in this transcendental session for the proclamation of the Constitution, our first thought recalls the decision of the people to support their Magna Carta, inspired by the heroism and patriotism of those who fought for a free, democratic, social solidarity, formed in the sacrifice of our ancestors”, the president of the National Assembly said.

Lazo recalled that the process of constitutional reform had its culminating moment on February 24, when the commitment of a people in Revolution was evident and the new constitution was ratified.
