Havana_ Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel congratulated the health professional of the Island on the Latin American Medicine Day, Radio Habana Cuba reports.

On his Twitter account, Diaz-Canel  thanks to the heroes of Cuban and Latin American medicine, those who fight for life, in a humble Cuban neighborhood as well as in a village in the Amazon.

This is a special  to celebrate the ideas of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, who was a promoter of free medicine and to take it to the most remote and forgotten corners of the world.

In honor of the Cuban epidemiologist Carlos J. Finlay (December 3, 1833-August 19, 1915), his birthday was instituted as the Day of Latin American Medicine.
