Havana, Cuba: Army General Raúl Castro, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, and Miguel Díaz Canel Bermúdez, President of the Councils of State and of Ministers, inaugurated today the special school Amistad Cuba-Vietnam, Radio Havana Cuba publishes.

The facility, with 138 workers dedicated to the comprehensive care of 78 children and adolescents with physical motor limitations, opened its doors in the former Villa Elvira, where the patriot and mayor Emilio Bacardí lived with his family in the first two decades of the 20th century.

"One of the dreams of the historic leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro has materialized with the opening of that special education center, in a new April of Girón, as a song to life and the reaffirmation that the irrevocable decision of the Cuban people of Homeland or Death”, Ena Elsa Velázquez, Minister of Education”, said.

On behalf of the parents of the students of that school, Aylín Torres Barrera, expressed the satisfaction of having an installation equipped with all the conditions and equipment for the study and physical motor and intellectual development of their children, so she defends the Constitution proclaimed last April 10th which makes that social gains such as education and health prevails.

The Vice President of the Council of State and President of the Provincial Assembly of the People's Power of Santiago de Cuba, Beatriz Johnson, said that once again the pedagogical thinking of José Martí and Fidel come true in a colossal work such as the special school Amistad Cuba - Vietnam, result of the political will of the Cuban Government.

Destined to the attention of children and adolescents with disabilities in the five eastern provinces, this work is the result of a program of three: in Havana, Solidaridad con Panamá and in Santa Clara, where another center will open soon.

Students from that special school, along with the Alberto Fernández Montes de Oca and Eduardo Mesa Llul centers, of the deaf and blind respectively, were in charge of the cultural activity of that event, which was also attended by Roberto Morales Ojeda, Vice President of the State Councils and of Ministers and Lázaro Expósito Canto, First Secretary of the Provincial PCC in Santiago de Cuba.
