Havana: The president of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel, called to strengthen the research and development center of the Ministry of Construction (Micons) to gain quality and solve the difficulties in that sector, Cubadebate publishes.
During a work meeting, the president ratified the need to prioritize the connection of science and technology with the constructive sphere, to include ways to make more effective and durable buildings, and more resistant to environmental erosion too.
At the meeting, the Cuban Minister of Science, Technology and Environment, Elba Rosa Pérez, stressed that, even when there is progress, more work can be done on programs and lines of development to contribute to the constructive branch.
She highlighted the importance in this sense of the research and development center and urged to continue the progress in the relationship with the universities and the main research projects.
The president of the Councils of State and of Ministers called to rescue the Micons research institution, which he referred to as the ideal coordinator of the sector with the university centers.
The contribution of science to the local production of materials was also analyzed in the work meeting.
