Havana: The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, thanked on his Twitter account, the many congratulations received for his election, during the IV extraordinary session of Parliament, held the day before, Radio Habana Cuba publishes.

From the Russian Federation, President Vladimir Putin, and Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev, sent an official note to the Cuban dignitary, in which they agree that the continuity of Díaz-Canel at the head of the country will strengthen the links between the two nations in strategic sectors for common benefit.

For his part, the Chinese president, Xi Jinping, also welcomed the election, highlighted the friendship between China and the Island, and reaffirmed his willingness to work together to strengthen bilateral ties.

In his message, the president of the Asian giant said that the two countries are good friends, partners and brothers, managed to forge a solid fraternity for more than half a century, have a sincere confidence and share the same destiny.

In addition, from the 15 Cuban provinces and the Isla de La Juventud Special Municipality, labor groups, students, and political and mass organizations, send congratulations to the president.
