Havana: At the close of the Anti-Imperialist Meeting of Solidarity for Democracy and against Neoliberalism, President Miguel Díaz-Canel said that Cuba was and always will be a point of convergence of those who defend peace and solidarity among peoples, Radio Reloj publishes.

The final session of the forum was also attended by Army General Raúl Castro, First Secretary of the Party, and the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro.

Díaz-Canel referred to the recent Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement, in Azerbaijan, and stressed how it takes up the spirit of its foundation, given the dramatic course of events and the crisis that puts the United Nations system at risk.

"There we denounced those responsible for that situation, but we were not the only ones," said the Cuban president and highlighted Maduro's role at the head of the organization.

Miguel Díaz-Canel raised great global concern about setbacks in areas such as peace, sovereignty, the environment, human rights, social justice and the search for economic equity.

The first enemy to demolish is lie; Díaz Canel emphasized and gave several examples of how in several nations the empire has used it for its plans of aggression and destabilization.

In his closing remarks he recalled Cuban internationalist aid in Africa.

Before the misrepresentations that the enemies of the Revolution do of that noble duty, he recalled that from Africa, Cuba brought only its dead and the conviction of the duty fulfilled as Che taught us.

He criticized the unseemly attitude of the Organization of American States.

A better world is possible, necessary and urgent, said Díaz Canel during his speech.

The president summoned those present to resume the works of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro and Hugo Chávez as guides of the path that the Latin American nations have ahead.

We have to put an end to the lies that loom over our peoples, said Díaz Canel and reaffirmed the commitment of unity and solidarity of the Greater of the Antilles to all countries, which fight for their independence and self-determination.
