Caracas_ Irregular groups of mercenaries and paramilitaries are organized today in the Colombian department of Norte de Santander with the aim of venturing into Venezuela, the protector of the state of Táchira, Freddy Bernal, denounced.

About 435 Venezuelan individuals are in three hotels in the town of Cúcuta,  among which there are some deserters and military discharged due to irregular facts, who would be financed by the United Nations Agency for Refugees (UNHCR), Bernal said, Prensa Latina publishes

In an interview with the multinational chain Telesur, the leader of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, stressed the importance of UNHCR deciding whether it really has relations with these people, coordinated by the (retired) General Clive Alcala Cordones.

According to intelligence information provided by sources within the Colombian National Police, these irregular groups would be directed to execute raiding actions on Venezuelan territory.

"I want to warn the international community about the preparation of a form of war against Venezuela aimed at causing internal chaos through the incursion of paramilitaries, mercenaries and some traitors”, said Bernal, who attributed responsibility for those plans to the United States government.

Preparations to attack civilian and military targets in Venezuelan territory are underway, in order to generate chaos and destabilization, in a formula of aggression that would include the selective assassination of political leaders and military officials, he said.

The representative of the South American nation in the United Nations Organization, Samuel Moncada, denounced on Thursday before the Security Council the maneuvers of Washington to induce an "indirect and mercenary war" in the country through armed irregularities groups.

Spokesmen of the administration of Donald Trump manipulate the figures of alleged deserters of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) in order to justify the formation of a so-called Army of Liberation of Venezuela in Colombian territory, Moncada said.

"The organizers of this criminal armed group are publicly boasting in the Colombian media with total impunity”, the diplomat said.
