Caracas: Venezuela's revolutionary forces prepare the celebrations for the first anniversary of the re-election of President Nicolás Maduro in the presidential elections on May 20, 2018, Prensa Latina reports.

The Bolivarian Congress of Peoples called for mobilizations throughout the country and a central march in Caracas to celebrate the victory at the polls of the candidate of the Bolivarian Revolution for the presidential term 2019-2025.

In all the states, municipalities, parishes and communities of the South American nation, the people will carry out acts of popular sovereignty, informed the vice president of mobilization of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Darío Vivas.

He said that in the capital of Venezuela there will be a rally in Plaza Morelos on Mexico Avenue, from where popular forces will march to the National Constituent Assembly, Venezolana de Televisión said.

The celebrations for the first anniversary of the re-election of Maduro will also constitute a day to ratify the will to defend democracy, peace and sovereignty, before the coup plans of the opposition and threats of intervention by the United States, the socialist leader said.

Maduro won the elections on May 20, 2018 with more than six million votes, equivalent to 67 percent of the popular participation in a process legitimized by dozens of international observers, and also marked by the calls for abstention by the most radical wing of the opposition.

One year after the electoral victory, Venezuela faces the resurgence of attacks on the constitutional order, including coup attempts and Washington's efforts to establish a parallel government through the imposition of an economic blockade and the latent option of armed aggression.
