On October 31, 2018, the vast majority of the countries of the world will once again tell the government of the White House to cease the economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba.
The report to be presented by the Cuban delegation will have the same objective as in previous years: to show the world how much damage has caused to the people almost six decades of rancid and archaic decisions of successive US administrations.
After a year of the last and overwhelming vote of the General Assembly in favor of the Cuban report, the losses in the economy remain the same as the social limitations.
The voice of Cuba will be heard again clearly and precisely at the UN, without concessions, without a bit of setback in our sovereign and independent principles and rights.
It is time for the United States government to address the global demand for the end of the blockade. The recent decisions of Donald Trump respond to the demands of the Cuban-American power dome residing in Miami.
Such impudence is not capable of deceiving the hundreds of countries that systematically support Cuba in its just demand to put an end to a stifling and genocidal policy, which constitutes a clear and forceful refusal to act filibuster of Washington
Since 1991, the US blockade has been receiving increasing condemnation from the UN members, a repudiation that last year came from 191 states, the highest number recorded in all the votes of the reports presented by the largest of the Antilles.
The end of October will be another unequivocal show of support for a people that resist the imperial obstinacy, showing the world what it can do in the midst of difficult conditions, which make solidarity and internationalism sacred values.
When the approval, abstention or non-approval of the report submitted by Cuba to the UN is requested, the immense majority of the nations of the world will remain on our side, while the government of the United States and its allies will continue to sink in the depth of their stubbornness loneliness.
