Donald Trump’s National Security Adviser, John Bolton, will return to Miami to talk about Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua. In the same city, where last November he said that these three countries constituted a Troika of Tyranny, he will give a speech on Wednesday, Cubahora publishes.

Its tribune this time will be the headquarters of the "Bay of Pigs Veterans Association", on a symbolic day, since on April 17 another anniversary of the invasion on Playa Girón will be celebrated, where the United States (USA) and the mercenaries were defeated in less than 72 hours by the Cuban people.

As he stated in his Twitter account, his goal will be to announce "important steps" the US government will take to "face the security threats" related to Cuba and Venezuela, and the "democratic crisis" in Nicaragua.

A user of that social media wrote in response to Bolton: "Bay of Pigs as an example of the failure of US policy towards Latin America, specifically Cuba, and you want to continue using the same failed strategy."

The US-Cuba Trade and Economic Council advanced some of the measures analyzed by the US administration regarding the Caribbean island, and that would be ratified by Bolton during his speech.

For example, return Cuba to the list of states sponsoring of terrorism, intensify the travel alert, specific sanctions against Cubans working in Venezuela, restore the minimum limit of expenses for American travelers, and require US companies to pay directly to their Cuban employees.

In its list of states sponsoring of terrorism, where currently are North Korea, Iran, Sudan and Syria, Cuba remained between 1982 and 2015.

About the travel alerts, the US-Cuba Trade and Economic Council argued that the Trump Administration is considering changing the level of Cuba from 2 (greater caution) to 3 (reconsidering the trip), or maybe even to 4 (do not travel to).

Venezuela is currently at level 4, along with other countries such as North Korea, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.

On the other hand, on April 17, the US government is also expected to rule on Title III of the Helms-Burton, because on May 1 the most recent suspension expires and Congress must be notified in advance.

However, what seems increasingly clear is that the current US government will continue tightening the nut of sanctions against Cuba and Venezuela. The question would be how far they are willing to go in pursuit of their goals.
