As a Cuban born after the triumph of the Revolution, my whole life has passed under the economic blockade imposed by the United States on my country.

This genocidal policy, applied for more than 50 years, is cruel and inhuman, it lacks of justice and it is deliberately designed to cause hunger, disease and despair in the population.

The blockade prevents the entry of food, medicines, raw materials for different industries and the fuel so necessary for energy in the greater of the Antilles.

But besides all that, this condition of drowning and NOT letting us prosper economically, can be observed daily on the impossibility to Cuba of exchanging with other countries in branches such as science, technology, information, agriculture, medicine and even in culture.

In the latter sector, the US fence significantly affects artistic education, a completely free system on the Island. The main limitations are related to the acquisition of the necessary inputs for the learning process, such as musical instruments and accessories for ballet, dance and visual arts.

Although the cost of a student's basic education in an academic year of any manifestation of art ranges from 15 thousand to 16 thousand dollars, the Cuban State does not deny the free participation in this teaching to any child with aptitude and vocation.

Damage to the sector also affects Cuba's relations with other countries in terms of cultural exchange.

It is important to note that the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States, six decades ago, causes damages quantified in more than 922 thousand 630 million dollars.

Due to the aggressiveness of this hostile and inhuman policy against Cuba, in November our country will pronounce for the twenty-eighth consecutive occasion, before the United Nations General Assembly, the draft resolution against the blockade, a document that has the backing of the majority of the countries in the world.
