The ambassador of Palestine to the United Nations, Dr. Riyad H. Mansour, opened the debate on the draft resolution of Cuba against the blockade of the United States (USA), on behalf of the Group of 77 + China, Cubadebate publishes.

The Group, he says, expresses its utmost concern about the prolonged effects of the restrictions due to the blockade imposed by the United States for almost 60 years.

It refers to the limitations that Cuba faces in access to credit and in foreign trade. “The Group is concerned that if these actions continue the potential of Cuban development in economic and social terms, it will be affected,” while limiting its performance in the execution of the 2030 agenda.

He refers to Cuba's contribution, generously, in the international community, and cites assistance in disasters, such as when Ebola in Africa.

He calls for an end to the blockade and says that the urgency of this call is not only for Cuba but for the benefit it would bring to the international community. The group calls on the UN to intensify its efforts.
