The Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Jorge Arreaza, begins his speech at the United Nations General Assembly by ratifying that in spite the obstacles the United States impose, any action will impede Cuba and his country to continue together, Cubadebate publishes.

He says that it is now 28 years in a row that the General Assembly, the most democratic body, calls for the repeal of the blockade, which aims to curtail the development of the right of the Cuban people and promote a constitutional change, “an objective that they have never achieved and will never achieve "

He refers to the letter sent by Commander Hugo Chávez, in September 2011, to the UN: “Exhausted all the arguments of international wisdom, it only remains to believe that such reprimand against the Cuban Revolution is a consequence of imperial pride in the face of dignity and the courage shown by the Cuban people in the sovereign decision to govern their destiny and fight for their happiness ”.

The diplomat argues that the historical call of the international community has been ignored with total contempt for those who violate with total impunity what is endorsed in the Charter of Nations.

“Venezuela demands that the unconventional war against the people of Cuba and the Venezuelan cease. It is not by way of intolerance that international relations must be managed. ”

“It is a criminal practice, which fits perfectly as a crime against humanity; it is a collective punishment that emanates from whims, pride, from those who believe they are superior, ”he says.

According to the chancellor, sooner or later they will have to compensate the Cuban people for the pain caused during almost 60 years of application of the blockade.

"This policy is emblematic, above all, for the heroism of the Cuban people, because after almost 60 years the most powerful country has not only not achieved its objective but has deepened the roots of the people and solidarity."

He refers to the harmful consequences, which have been cruel, trying to deny the basic social rights to the population.
