"Today we are witnessing that the arrogant approach of a country represents a huge threat and challenge to world peace and security," said Eshagh Al Habib, representative of Iran at the United Nations, Cubadebate publishes.
In his speech, he refers to the unilateral measures imposed by the United States. They show the exercise of a “myopic, vitiated and interventionist foreign policy”.
The blockade imposed on Cuba for almost six decades is the most unfair and prolonged system applied against any country.
In his opinion, these measures constitute a serious violation of the principles that underpin the international order. "There is no sector or Cuban citizen who has been immune to this policy that hinders the development that every country has the right to achieve in a sovereign manner."
Unfortunately, he underlines, we have seen how they have expanded the list of restricted Cuban entities, which causes considerable damage due to their intimidating effects. The US administration has become addicted to the imposition of unilateral measures when states do not submit to their regime.
Iran and Cuba are paying the price for their resistance.
