Cuba will not cease its claim for the total elimination of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States.
This is what the residents of San Nicolás express after the presentation during the past days of the draft resolution on the need to put an end to this unfair policy at the General Assembly of the United Nations.
In spite of the attempts of the United States government to bifurcate the result of the favorable votes to Cuba, the failure was imminent, because our Island once again had the unanimous support of the peoples of the region and the vast majority of the rest of the countries of the world with votes in support of the elimination of the restrictive statute.
With 187 in favor, 3 against and two abstinences, Cuba once again pronounces itself against the longest commercial siege in history, a criminal and genocidal system that hinders the development of the largest of the Antilles.
It has never been an option to surrender to the subversive attempts of the empire and its tricks to degrade and reduce to pieces the integrity and revolutionary commitment of our people.
Once again, the Spaniards supported the presentation through acts of repudiation and the constant participation in social networks, which during this week became active spaces of denunciation against the damages derived from this criminal policy.
More than a brutal act of genocide, the blockade constitutes the most dishonorable of the episodes of the US government towards our country, however the sacrifice and impetus that characterizes the beings of this island, overcome the difficulties and lash out against any vicissitude.
Cuba remains faithful to its socialist principles since the beginning of the Revolution and it is the main duty of our people to preserve them.
Someday this fight, this resistance, this will of the Cubans will give fruit. A Cuba without Blockade, without ties, without economic repression is necessary. The battle is difficult but it will not be invincible.
