Caracas: The Hero of the Republic of Cuba, Gerardo Hernández, called the Helms Burton Law, applied by the administrations of the United States (USA) against the Caribbean Island, as a mockery and offense to the dignity of Cubans, Prensa Latina publishes.
'I am almost 54 years old and I do not know what it is to live in a country that is not blocked, I was born in a Cuba held by the neck by the US government, which does not want us to show that a better world is possible,' said the revolutionary wrestler in an exchange with the media.
Hernandez, who is in Caracas as part of the delegation of the largest of the Antilles to the XVIII Latin American and Caribbean Student Congress (CLAE), denounced the constant harassment of the White House.
In this regard, he lamented that after living a few years of alleged 'relaxation of tensions' between Washington and Havana, the current US president, Donald Trump, put the issue of Cuba in the hands of fascists, who lead the well-known anti-Castro industry.
From the northern nation 'they fear the approach, which can represent a danger to the modus vivendi of politicians,' the member of the five Cubans said.
'The consequences of economic suffocation are suffered by the people for more than half a century ago and I do not think that they are different at present, however, they create a smokescreen to worry investors, tourists and other entities, who see in Cuba a door to commercial development”, he explained.
The authorities of the Caribbean nation 'guarantee that no foreign law will prevent the use for the benefit of the people of the properties that were once nationalized by laws that were fully compliant with international standards, and that no court, anywhere in the world, can ignore with impunity, "he said.
