Mayabeque, Cuba_ The general election this Sunday in Mayabeque was another expression of support to the Cuban social process, according to the president of the Electoral Commission in the territory, Raquel Piñero Díaz. 

Thousands of Mayabequenses went to the polls to elect the delegates to the provincial government body and the deputies to the Cuban Parliament.

Mayabeque shows a result in more than 88 percent of the individuals who attended the polls, we must emphasize the discipline, consecration, the whole spirit of effort of both the electoral authorities and the people, Piñero Díaz said.

There were 270 polling stations functioning in the eleven municipalities, which opened their doors since early hours in the morning. In addition, those who presented themselves upon request also exercised their right as citizens.

The president of the Provincial Electoral Commission congratulated the people for the significant attendance to the polls. During the process, the participation of four municipalities stood out, among them Melena del Sur, Batabanó, Madruga and Jaruco.

The general elections in Cuba ratify the commitment of the people to the legacy of the historic leader Fidel Castro Ruz and the continuity of the revolutionary process.
