Havana_ Seven million 399 thousand 891 voters exercised the vote in the general elections in Cuba, this Sunday, a figure that represents 82, 90 percent of the register, Radio Havana Cuba publishes. 

The information was offered at a press conference in this capital, by Alina Balseiro, President of the National Electoral Commission, who said that these are the preliminary figures.

She also broke down the quality of the vote. For all, they represented 80.44 percent and the selective ones the 19.56.

Of the total ballots deposited at the polls, 94.42 percent were reported as valid, higher than the results obtained in the 2012-2013 process.

Regarding canceled ballots, 1.26 percent were reported and blank ballots represent the 4.32 percent, lower than the previous process.

The 605 deputies to the Parliament were elected with more than half of the valid votes, as the Electoral Law establishes, as well as the one thousand and 165 delegates to the Provincial Assemblies of People's Power.

The president of the National Electoral Commission said that the final results will be announced once the process of conciliation is made based on inclusions and exclusions carried out in each Electoral College. "This will make possible to avoid any repetition in the electoral register," she said.

She described the elections of last Sunday as a success of the people, an intense day of reaffirmation of the principles of the Cuban Electoral System and the achieved conquests.
