Havana_ Cuban electoral authorities are reviewing details of the November 26 elections and are working to resolve as soon as possible the deficiencies found during a general test carried out yesterday, Prensa Latina publishes.

More than 24,000 polling stations of the country participated yesterday in the exercise, which was considered successful in each territory.

The test allowed to verify the work system predicted for the voting day -when the delegates to the People's Power municipal assemblies will be elected-, as well as to mobilize the members of the electoral commissions and put into practice the corresponding mechanisms to each level.

According to the vice president of the Provincial Electoral Commission in Havana, Pedro Viltres, the country has worked in plenty of time to foresee everything necessary in terms of technology, prepare the members of polling stations, documentation and transportation, among other elements.

Viltres states that about 1,200 means of transportation, more than 5,500 links, 45 amateur radio networks and about 5,700 fixed and mobile phone lines were checked only in the capital.

The compliance of schedules, availability of supplies and lighting conditions were also verified.

Test voting papers were used, and vote counting and data transmission to the computer centers was also tested.

According to the National Electoral Commission, Cuba nominated about 27,221 candidates to elect the delegates to the People's Power municipal assemblies, 35 percent of which are women and 19 percent are youth.

A runoff will be on December 3 in those districts where no candidate obtains more than 50 percent of the valid votes cast.
