A human being with special gifts left his legacy for posterity. On the 92nd anniversary of the birth of the historic leader Fidel Castro Ruz, the men and women of this town are faithful followers of his example of rebellion against injustice and his vocation for knowledge, at the service of the most humble people.

"I owe to him what I have," said Rosa Garcia with emotion, a güinera who already combs gray hair and now remembers how she saw him everywhere, in a factory, in schools, in battle against the enemy, in the hospitals, tours of sports facilities or scientific centers.

"And that's why Fidel is an example in everything", according to Manuel Basulto, a güinero who fought against the bandits in the mountains and even with almost 90 years, knows that today's young people like those of his time follow his Commander.

Ignacio González added that he has the opportunity to study a university career thanks to the Revolution and his achievements, but in a special way he thanks Fidel, "my condition as a disabled does not prevent me from studying and being a professional in the future".

Like this young, Rosalia Amate knows well the achievements of his country, that is why she manifested his love for Fidel, and her loyalty to his principles and values.

"And to imitate him, it is not shouting I am Fidel, it is to fulfill his postulates, to be honest, to work with a lot of love, is to fulfill the honor of that selfless teacher, who left us a legacy of incalculable value", Mercedes Horta Acosta said.

She has the merit of making banners of July 26, bracelets, and other revolutionary actions clandestinely.

"He is the man who brought proletarian internationalism to the vanguard, we are followers of his ideas and we will maintain that, we will always have his legacy present for the whole life," said Professor Alfredo García.

When expressing his opinion, Dr. Pedro Martinez spoke of the commitment of the people to sign the concept of Revolution given by Fidel Castro in the year 2000, it is to endorse the changes and transformations that are taking place in the country to achieve a better society.

The Cubans and especially the people of Mayabeque express infinite respect for Fidel, the man who changed the world, and fought against the most powerful empire in history.

Fidel Castro left his mark on every Cuban. His revolutionary thought and action are part of the historical memory of this nation.
