Mayabeque, Cuba__ The birthday of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro and the World Youth Day will be the main motivations of the Parrandas of Mayabeque to be held from 11 to 13 this month in Mayabeque Beach, located in Melena del Sur.  

This was announced at a press conference, where cultural directors and other entities in charge of securing the event participated.

José Alberto Brito, a promoter of the sector in the territory, said that the official opening of the seventeenth edition of these celebrations will be on the 11th from 10:00 am and will feature the variety company of the Cacharrito clown.

The afternoon will be dedicated to literature, with a workshop by the writer and president of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) in the province, Reynaldo Medina, accompanied by José Mederos.

The visual artists will make body paintings, this time dedicated to environmental protection, in that space will also take place a photographic event, with professionals of the lens.

The moment dedicated to the elderly begins at night time with the festival of retro music and at the edge of midnight the youngest will enjoy the festival of foam.

The parrandas will continue on Saturday 12th, with an oral review in the morning dedicated to the new pines, a sport-recreational festival advised by executives of the Cuban Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation, (INDER) and in the afternoon lovers of Folk music will have their space.

The local group A Puro Corazon, will warm up from nine in the evening andafter that it is expected the performing of Maikol de Armas and his group.

For the farewell, on the 13th, the Peña Mexicana of Albertico Rojas and his guests will be held in the afternoon.
