Caracas_ Collaborators from Mayabeque working in Venezuela participated in the opening of the photographic exhibition Fidel in Caracas: 60 years, at the National Library, as a tribute to the first visit of the Cuban leader to the Venezuelan capital.

The exhibition shows copies of photos, publications of newspapers, magazines and other bibliographies about the emotional encounter between the Commander in Chief and the people of Caracas during the days of January 23 to 25, 1959.

The inauguration was attended by the ambassador of Cuba in the Central American country, Rogelio Polanco Fuentes, who said that 60 years ago Venezuela gave the hug to Fidel, the same given today to Cuba.

"At the moment Venezuela is showing the world the strength of the Bolivarian Revolution; when facing to obstacles and adversities. This Venezuelan people continues winning”, the ambassador said.

A meetingn with the then president Rómulo Betancourt, the wide concentration in the Plaza del Silencio, as well as the acts held in the Chamber of Deputies and the Central University of Venezuela, six decades ago, also are part of the exhibition.
