The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, on his Twitter social network account wrote: 'How to remember Fidel? Assuming his legacy as ours, confronting imperialism with courage and firmness, working and thinking for and for the people, fighting to make a better world”.

The user @JuanPabl29 said: 'these days more than ever I have in my mind and in my heart the image of my Commander Fidel Castro, his example is what drives me more and more to be a better man and a better revolutionary.'

Everyday reality gives proof of the affection for 'the Boss' as many called him, when hundreds of people go every day to the Santa Ifigenia heritage cemetery to, before the enormous corn-shaped rock, confirm that it remains a beacon.

According to data provided by the management of the necropolis, during these almost three years more than one million 800 thousand people went to Santa Ifigenia to express in the most dissimilar ways their respect and admiration for the leader of the Cuban Revolution.

They come alone or in groups, on visits promoted by work and study centers or by the family, the newspaper Juventud Rebelde reports.

They arrive and pass, without worrying if there is drizzle or if the sun is inclement. Among them are scientists, farmers, military, artists; Grandparents and children.

The records of Santa Ifigenia precised that the place where Fidel Castro rests have been visited by about 270 thousand foreigners from more than 80 countries.
