Baku_ The State University of the Autonomous Republic of Nakhichevan, Azerbaijan, paid tribute to the Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro, on the first anniversary of his physical disappearance, Prensa Latina reports. 

The faculties of international relations and foreign languages ​​of the aforementioned university participated in a conference given by the ambassador of Cuba in this Caucasian nation, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, about the historical leader of the Cuban revolutionary process.

The Cuban diplomat highlighted Fidel's legacy in defense of the sovereignty and self-determination of the peoples.

He also highlighted the role of the Cuban revolutionary in the struggle of the Non-Aligned Movement and his leadership in anti-imperialist and anti-colonialist battles.

The head of the diplomatic mission highlighted Fidel's spirit of solidarity and his work in defense of humanity.

With this conference, in the cradle of the leader of the Azerbaijani nation, Gueidar Aliyev, this country joins the commemorations around the world in honor of the figure and political ideology of Fidel Castro Ruz, one year after his death that will be fulfilled. November 25.
