Mayabeque, Cuba: Vigor, joy, continuity. These were the main contributions of the young people of this province who participated in the proletarian festival this May Day.

Vigor, because they march through the 40 street quickly, with cheers and songs. Happiness, because it is something proper of this stage of life and they brought their smiles, again and again, to be together with the Homeland. Continuity, because to them correspond the most immediate future of the work that is been built since January 1, 1959.

Pre-university education is definitely for young people, the option to enter higher education requires a high level of learning, perseverance in the study and discipline.

Sincere thanks to the work of the Revolution is part of the life of young Cubans. Without the independence and sovereignty that today we enjoy, the members of this population sector would not have the privileges that they treasure.

The sector represents about 24 percent of those employed in the economy, in the non-state sector; they are 31 percent of the 540 thousand Cubans who carry out activities on their own.

Cuba changes daily; It is imperfect but it is our Cuba; and young workers should listen and discuss different points of view in an environment that fosters the culture of debate.

There is no work possible without the presence of young people, who stand out for their ideas, creativity and preparation in the production of food. Those who by tradition or because they do so, cultivate the fields deserve greater attention, put an end to irregularities in the application of credit policy and the deficiencies that persist in the contracting and marketing of crops.
