Holguín: During the summary meeting of the second government visit to Holguín, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez assessed that the University of the province is closely linked to the economic and social development of the territory with deep investigations, including those dedicated to metal molds for construction, the development of tools and the Life Task, with emphasis on coastal systems, Granma newspaper publishes.

Other entities, where he recognized its performance, were the dairy industry of the province, committed to offer new products, ensure their innocuousness and maintain the link with tourism; as well as the nickel and cobalt producer Comandante Pedro Soto Alba, which fulfills its production plans and executes investments to increase its industrial efficiency despite suffering the effects of the application of Title III of the Helms-Burton Law.

The Cuban present express its satisfaction with the beginning of a serious analysis among doctors from the Higher Institute of Metallurgy and Mining with officials of the ministries related to the construction of an underwater emitter with which the factory intends to deposit on the seabed residues of nickel production. These discussions, he reflected, can find another, more effective way to minimize the negative impacts on the environment, he said.

The Council of Ministers closely follows Moa's comprehensive development plan.

He recognized the strong and serious work that is being carried out in the city. That is why he also celebrated the repair works of the railway terminal, with a view to the upcoming start of operation of the Holguin-Havana train, and thus significantly will improve the transportation of passengers. The capital of the province continues in its efforts to beautify itself, to be more functional, he said on more than one occasion.
