Santa Clara, Cuba: Cuban President, Miguel Díaz Canel, participates here today in activities of the 330th anniversary of the founding of the Villa de Santa Clara.

The president of the Councils of State and Ministers arrived in the early hours to this city, capital of the province of Villa Clara, founded on July 15, 1689 by families who moved here from the municipality of Remedios, distant about 40 kilometers

Díaz-Canel was received in the church of Carmen by Monsignor Arturo González, bishop of the Diocese of Santa Clara.

The commemorative day of the 330 anniversary began at 6:00 a.m local time with the traditional Diana Mambisa in different places of the city, and later the traditional reception was given to a group of inhabitants of Remedios in Puente la Cruz.

The activities also include a gala Meeting with History (Encuentro con la Historia) at El Carmen Park and the laying of a wreath at the foot of the statue of the woman considered a benefactor of the city, Mrs. Marta Abreu de Estévez.

Next, a solemn session of the Municipal Assembly of the People's Power will be held at La Caridad theater and at noon, the traditional tamarind planting will be held at Loma del Capiro.
