Minsk: The Cuban president, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, arrived today in the capital Minsk, as part of an official visit, during which he will meet his Belarusian partner, Alexander Lukashenko, Prensa Latina publishes.
Upon arrival at the airport in this city, the Cuban president was received by the Belarusian Minister of Industries, Vladimir Utyupin, and the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Evgueni Shestakov, among other personalities.
During this day, they await the visit of the head of state to places of economic and cultural interest, among other activities.
The trip of the Cuban president comes after a visit to Ireland, where he spoke with his similar in the European country, Michael Higgins, who received him at his residence in Áras an Uachtarain.
The island's head of state tour also includes an official visit to Russia and his participation in the XVIII Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement, to be held in Azerbaijan.
In this capital there is already an official delegation from Cuba, headed by the vice president of the government of that country, Ricardo Cabrisas Ruíz, who the day before was received by the president of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of this nation, Vladimir Ulajovich.
Cabrisas Ruíz is accompanied by the Minister of Agriculture, Gustavo Rodríguez Rollero, the President of the Central Bank of Cuba, Irma Margarita Martínez Castrillón, the Vice Minister of Public Health Marcia Cobas, the President of Biocubafarma, Eduardo Martínez Mesa, and Ambassador Juan Valdés Figueroa , among others.
In the meeting they denounced the blockade of the United States against the island, intensified by the current US administration, diplomatic sources said.
The Caribbean delegation also held a meeting at the headquarters of the Central Bank of Belarus, among other activities.
