Fidel had had the idea for some time; the plan was forged with zeal and unconditional offering. A group of young people, without knowing the details, accepted the challenge. Behind the unknown a certainty, fight for freedom until conquering it.

The moment had arrived. Intense days of preparation for that youth that would enter history as the Centennial Generation, which did not let the apostle die 100 years later.

Oriente was once again the scene to fan the flame of independence and there they went with dreams, hopes and the decision to fight and win.

July 26, 1953, showed the determination of the Cubans to continue the tradition of struggle of our people for a free homeland.

Fidel rose as the undisputed leader of the revolutionary movement that would not rest until victory. The heroism of those young people still moves and encourages.

65 years after the deed of Moncada, Cuba waged new battles faithful to the legacy of the generation that gave it all for a better country. They marked the way and today its light shines and continues accompanying us in these times of heroism and virtue so that the Martian star that illuminates and kills shines on our forehead.
