Sancti Spiritus, Cuba_ Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, second secretary of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party and vice president of the Councils of State and Ministers, congratulates the Commander in Chief for his 90 birthday, at the beginning of his speech at the ceremony for the National Rebellion Day in Sancti Spiritus, the digital site Escambray newspaper publishes.

In his words, the official recognizes the achievements of the territory in the economic and social aspects and points out the potential of the demarcation to continue its development.

"Fulfilling the plan is not synonymous to meet the country's needs," explains Machado Ventura, who also urges the espirituanos to continue working.

He especially praises the implementation of the commitments of the province with the sugar harvest, an aspect in which Sancti Spiritus stands nationwide.

Machado Ventura highlights the fighting spirit which has always characterized the people of Sancti Spiritus, and remembers the devotion of the sons and daughters of this territory for Maximo Gomez, who carried out his historic Reform Campaign in this region.
