Mayabeque, Cuba_ The cultural political gala for the 64th anniversary of the assaults on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks took place at the Lajero movie theater of the provincial capital with the presentation of a varied artistic program.  

The homage began with the inauguration of a photographic exhibition consisting of 20 snapshots dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the fall in combat of the Heroic Guerrilla Ernesto Guevara.

Then the company Pasti Dance, the Septeto Son del Mayabeque, the duet Ocasión, the quartet Vocal Fénix and Rumberos de Mayabeque delighted the audience.

In a contralectura dedicated to the generation of the centenary, the writer Nuris Quintero and the repentista Cindy Manuel Torres paid tribute to Fidel Castro, Abel Santamaría Cuadrado, Raúl Gómez García and other heroes.

Hamlet Valdés Leon Valdés, first secretary of the Young Communists League in the province, granted the Commemorative Coin 55 Anniversary of the UJC to the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution.

The event was also favorable to recognize Yaritza de la Caridad Martínez Varela, silver medalist at the hammer throw at the World Junior Athletics Championships held in Nairobi, capital of Kenya.

The gala was presided over by the member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and its first secretary in Mayabeque, Juan Miguel García Díaz, Leonel Díaz Denis, official of the PCC Central Committee, Tamara Valido Benítez, president of the Provincial Assembly of People's Power, Julio César García, head of the administration and other leaders of political and mass organizations in the territory.
