Rolando Oscar Guerrero Bello was born on April 18, 1923, at La Finca Saguaní, Nueva Paz, and on that same site he made his first studies. From peasant and poor origin he worked from an early age, in the then Josefina sugar mill.

His loyalty to Fidel and Raúl was infinite, a simple man, modest, with an affable, generous and vertical behaviour in his principles. Genaro Hernández Martínez worked as an agricultural worker and cane cutter in Nueva Paz.

Manuel Gómez Reyes was born on September 11, 1911, in San José de las Lajas. Of humble origin, he knew the rigor of hard work and little remuneration. He worked in the field, first as a cane cutter and later in various agricultural tasks.  

Manuel Enrique Isla Pérez lived just 20 years. He was born on July 15, 1933 at the Santa Eugenia farm, in the Bagáez neighborhood of the municipality of Nueva Paz. From here they move to Los Palos where he meets his comrade Fidel Castro Ruz and other leading revolutionary leaders who made training and shooting practices in that place.  Â
