La Paz: The envoy of the Organization of the United Nations (UN) for Bolivia, Jean Arnault, starts today a series of meetings with the objective of promoting the pacification of that country, curbing violence and preserving life, Prensa Latina publishes.
After meeting with the self-proclaimed president, Jeanine Áñez, Arnault insisted on the urgent need to contribute in the best possible way to the objective of holding free, transparent and inclusive elections.
The international official begins his management in a context characterized by the contradictions between the executive and human rights organizations regarding the decree that exempts the military, which participate in operations against Evo Morales supporters, from criminal responsibility.
In a message to social networks, Morales reported that the death toll in his country increased to 24 last weekend due to military-police repression of those who oppose the coup.
