Mayabeque, Cuba: Bejucal, the city of the charangas, hosted the workers of Radio Mayabeque, who are celebrating the 49th anniversary of its foundation.

The authorities of this municipality presented the main achievements, as well as their structure.

"The Municipal Assembly of Popular Power (AMPP) has 31 delegates, therefore 31 districts, only 11 outside the urban area," the president of the territory's WPP, Reinier Elvio Fernández, explained.

"A large percentage of the people's representatives are under 35 years old, more than 50 percent are women and there are all sectors of the local economy," Fernandez added.

Bejucal is history, culture and tradition. In 2016 the Charangas were declared cultural patrimony of the nation. These festivals transcend by the rhythm of their drums and the essence of their Ceiba de Plata and Espina de Oro bands.

Six work teams of the provincial radio station toured dissimilar entities linked to science, education, commerce, culture and sport.

The program “Aqui en familia” (Here in family) was transmitted from the National Center of Bio preparations (BioCen), one of the scientific institutions of the demarcation.
