Mayabeque, Cuba_ A special chess tournament in honor of the birth of José Martí took place at Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Academy, in the municipality of Güines.

Alain Daniel Laborí Díaz occupied the first position, with four and a half points, the result of four victories and a draw.

The second place went to the aJosé MartíGüineslain Dazccount of Rachel García Fuentes, with four wins to achieve four points.

Yudisgleidis Hernández Martínez, took the third position and the fourth place was David García Riverón. More than thirty chess players, from almost all the municipalities of Mayabeque participated in the lid.

In this academy it is usual to develop the tournaments with the aim of training the chess players and accustom them to the competitions for future provincial, national and international commitments.

According to Professor Hipólito Barrio, the contest was conducted with quality and discipline.
