Santiago de Cuba_ Floral offerings dedicated to José Martí by the First Secretary of the Cuban Communist Party, Raúl Castro Ruz, and the President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Díaz Canel Bermúdez, were deposited today in the mausoleum that keeps his remains in the Santa Ifigenia patrimonial cemetery, in Santiago de Cuba, he publishes Cubadebate.
Students of the Camilo Cienfuegos Military School, of Arroyo Arenas, in Havana, and Cadets of the José Martí Military Technical Institute, Antonio Maceo and Order Carlos J Finlay, participated in the military ceremony and made the guard of honor as a stimulus to the results achieved.
The central words were in charge of Elena Castillo Rodríguez, General Secretary of the Cuban Women Federation in the province, who underlined the meaning of the Martian heritage for the Cuban nation and reaffirmed the commitment of the women of Santiago with the Revolution, in defense of the legacy of the Apostle and of many other heroes who worked for the independence of the country.
At the end of the ceremony, the members of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party Lázaro Expósito Canto, first secretary in the province, and Beatriz Johnson Urrutia, vice president of the State Council and president of the Assembly of People's Power in the territory, together with the pioneers and santiagueros present at the cemetery, deposited flowers before the tombs of the founders of the Cuban Nation.
The tribute ceremony to José Martí will be completed with the firing of 21 artillery salvos at the noon time, in synchronized action in the San Carlos de la Cabaña fortress, in Havana, and the Santa Ifigenia cemeneterio, in Santiago de Cuba.
