Puntarenas, Costa Rica: The ideology and anti-imperialist political thought of the Cuban National Hero, José MartÃ, was present at an event held in Costa Rica, for the 124th Anniversary of his fall in combat, Prensa Latina reports.
The director of the school Benemérito Colegio Nocturno José MartÃ, Rodolfo Centeno, affirmed that it is an honor to have studied at José Martà High School (Diurno) and now be the director of the center which bears the name of the Cuban hero, who –he exalted- leaves us a great legacy.
For his part, the former student of the Liceo and researcher of the work of Martà Juan Luis Bolaños pointed out the need not only to know his poetry and his simple verses, but also his deep anti-imperialist, humanist, revolutionary, integrationist and Latin Americanist thinking.
He asked the professors and students of Benemérito Nocturno College and of the Lyceum that bear the name of José Martà to always bear in mind Marti's ideology, because it is one of the best ways to teach how to love the Homeland.
'Let's discover MartÃ, let us drink the extraordinary sap of the Apostle of the independence of America, because from there, from that fight in Dos RÃos, from that struggle for the independence of Cuba from Spanish slavery, the most extraordinary feeling of freedom and patriotism is born' , he stressed.
The Ambassador of Cuba in Costa Rica, Danilo Sánchez, thanked the organizers of the event on behalf of the Cuban people and government, the students, professors and directors of the Benemérito Nocturno College and the Lyceum who have maintained these activities for many years.
