Santiago de Cuba_ As an expression of respect for the principles and continuity, in the spirit and letter of the Draft Constitution beats that supreme aspiration, already achieved by the Revolution in power, of José Martí: "I want the first law of our Republic to be the cult of the Cubans to the full dignity of man ", Radio Mambí publishes.

That path has been traveled, because the current Constitution of the Republic - approved in 1976 with the backing of 97.7 percent of citizens - is a true reflection of social justice, committed since January 1959 to build a better country for all Cubans.

Its objective is to temper the new times and conditions in which the nation lives and develops, because it is a project with profound transformations.

The new text incorporates in Title I, Chapter I, in its first article, that Cuba is a socialist State of Law, and emphasizes its democratic, independent and sovereign character, organized with all and for the good of all, as a unitary and indivisible Republic, founded on the work, the dignity and the ethics of its citizens.

The supreme values of the legal system include the enjoyment of political freedom, equity, justice and social equality, solidarity, humanism, well-being and individual and collective prosperity, the fruit of history, identity and culture of the Cuban nation.

In each title, chapter and article there arises that sense of concern, occupation and defense of the interests and aspirations of the people, for which a peculiarity is the reinforcement of access and right to work; as well as health and education that remain free and enhance its reach as conquests.

Army General Raúl Castro, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba, described the process of constitutional reform that Cuba undertook, for which the effort of all the people has been summoned, as one of the most intense tasks due to its content, and gigantic, because it will move the whole country.
