Managua_ The president of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega, today sent a message to the Cuban Government and its people regarding the Constitutional Referendum of last Sunday, February 24, Prensa Latina reports.

"We share the celebration and festivity of the people of Cuba, of the families, of the Party, of the Council of State, of the Government, that carried out with the respect and the characteristic culture, the referendum that allowed to approve the new constitution", the message highlights.

After a long process of popular consultation, the Caribbean island approved a new Constitution with more than 86 percent of the votes of almost 8 million citizens.

In these hard times, of complications and continuous aggressions, triumphs like this strengthen us all, the president recalls.

“With heroism and in the immense legacy of great human beings of Our America, of Martí, of Fidel, we go forward, in luminous heroic creation, all together”, the letter concludes.
