Havana, Cuba_ President of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Ralph Gonsalves, came to Cuba to attend the seventh summit of the Association of Caribbean States, the digital site of Radio Havana Cuba publishes.

 The visitor was welcomed at the Jose Marti International Airport by Cuban Justice Minister Maria Esther Reus.

Upon his arrival, Gonsalves said to be happy to be back in Havana, and sent fraternal greetings to Cuban President Raul Castro and the historical leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro.

Regarding the ACS Summit, Gonsalves said that this will be very important for the countries members, not only because it will assess the political situation in the region, but also because it will serve to "discuss on trade, transport, tourism, technology and environment".

Gonsalves traveled to this capital with the prime ministers of Granada, Keith Mitchell; Jamaica, Andrew Michael Holness; and the president of Guyana, David Granger.

Earlier have arrived in Havana, his counterpart of El Salvador, Salvador Sanchez Ceren, who urged his colleagues to join efforts to face the challenges of sustainable development, climate change and also to discuss peace in the region

This afternoon the heads of delegations will discuss and approve the Havana Declaration and the Action Plan of the ACS for the biennium 2016-2018.
