Sochi_ Education as a public good, the access to quality education, the need to guarantee equal opportunities for all young people, were the themes addressed in the panel that this Tuesday dealt with the challenges of learning in the world, in the XIX World Festival of the Youth and the Students, Granma newspaper publishes. 

José Ramón Saborido Loidi, Minister of Higher Education of Cuba and one of the members of the panel, stressed that to overcome the challenges of this sector there will be not only political will, but concrete measures to allow it.

The head of the sector pointed out public policies and strategies that allow the development of education in Cuba, country which has the sector among its priorities and devoted the largest gross domestic product of the world in the period 2009-2013, according to a report of the World Bank.

At the meeting, Cuba and Lomonosov State University in Moscow signed a collaboration agreement that will allow closer ties between the two institutions.

"To overcome the challenge of university studies is a matter of a lifetime, the great course is to form an, integral, committed, revolutionary youth", Saborido Loidi said.

"Among the challenges of forming, two words are determinants: participation and leadership in the processes of social transformations. The world did not meet the millennium goals; we now have the challenge of meeting Agenda 2030. That responsibility is ours",concluded the Minister of Higher Education of Cuba.
