Havana, Cuba_ The VII Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC in Spanish) to be held in Havana from 16 to 19 of the current month, will have a wide representation of the economic and social sectors of the island, Cubasí published.

A significant number of cadres of the PCC, from the national to the municipalities and districts level, as well as leaders of the base organizations will be present among the thousand delegates, whose average age is 48 years.

Workers, farmers, technicians, state and business leaders, researchers, economists, professors and teachers, health workers, combatants of the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Ministry of the Interior, and representatives of the non-state sector of the economy, among others, will also participate.

Granma newspaper, official daily of the PCC, reports the Central Report of the Congress will be presented at the opening session of the event, while in the afternoon on the 16th and during the 17th, the delegates will work on four committees.

These teams will discuss the conceptualization of the socialist economic and social model, the development plan ahead to 2030, the vision of the nation, their axes and strategic sectors, the implementation of the documents adopted at the Sixth Congress Guidelines and their update for the next five years.

They will also address the realization of the Party’s objectives work since its First Conference, held in 2012.

Among the thousand delegates and 280 guests to the meeting, there are representatives of the thousands of Cubans who give solidarity aid to other countries, and a significant number of women.

The females constitute 43 percent of the delegates, while blacks and mestizos are the 36 percent, exceeding by 2.5 and 4.5 respectively the figures on the previous Congress.
