Mayabeque, Cuba: The executives of the mixed company Havana Club Internacional S.A. (CubaRon and Pernod Ricard de Francia), are now strongly targeting the production of dark rums made in the Ronera San José, in Mayabeque.
At the San José factory they are now expanding the plant to equip it with new warehouses and facilitate production. There 250 people work with 24 percent women, and the average age is 40 years.
The dark rums factory as such covers 20 hectares, of which 17 are dedicated to industry and three to waste treatment, in a process that includes production, filling, emptying and mixing, among others.
The countries to which the productions of the San José rum factory are sent are Cuba (internal market), Chile, Italy, Spain, Canada, Pernod Ricard Europe, the United Kingdom, Germany, France and Mexico.
