Mayabeque, Cuba: Tropical storm Laura seriously affected the roof of the Héroes de Mayabeque Stadium, located in the municipality of Güines, by knocking down 73 zinc tiles and other accessories.
Damages in 35 sports facilities in 11 provinces constituted the final balance of the attacks of the meteorological phenomenon on the sector. This was announced by the advisor of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation, Luis Argote, after receiving all the information from the territories.
In general, the main damages are located on the roofs, especially in baseball and football stadiums, although several reports reveal collapsed walls, torn windows, smashed lights, raised false ceilings and other situations.
